September 23 2007

Sunday afternoon Eric Scott, Troy Thoring, Dwayne Palmer, and Myself entered the new Highway 99 trailhead from the 2 of Clubs side, rode through the washout up the mountain to about 1300 meters, hacked and slashed, chainsawed, and tossed for 3 hours, and rode through to Time Machine.

Highway 99 is now an open loop.

Now, I have only donated about 4 hours to this project, and am amazed at the magnatitude of it.

4 Months later

Hundreds of man hours.

Dozens of chainsaw blades

Weather changes, and bugs

Bears stealing the pop cache each night

They did it!

It started as a thought, most thought they were crazy

Bottom line, it's there forever for all of us to use, and I personally guarantee

when you ride it you WILL be blown away.

There is much more to do, the final 300 meters needs to be widened to preserve it's existence.

Culverts need to be cleaned out.

Shrapnel needs to be removed from the trail.

In closing, I am proud to have been there to see the look on Dwayne and Troy's faces when their dream became real.

Congratulations gentlemen, you deserve it.
